Hebrews 1:8

We have the awesome privilege to gather with our local body of believers today to worship our God

…our living Head, the Lord Jesus Christ!

Hebrews 1:8 is one of my favorites verses in terms of proving that Jesus Christ is God, and His place in the trinity. The context is the conversation the Father was having with the Son in heaven just before His physical birth in Bethlehem (1:6). Imagine that! The verse says...

“But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.”

Do we need any more proof of Christ’s deity—or the place He should have in our lives!!!— than the fact that God the Father refers to the Lord Jesus Christ as “God”?! (i.e. “Thy throne, O God!”)

ONE DAY every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father (Phil 2:10–11). We get to do that TODAY!
